Network Installation

Un attended network installation

In every type of installation we have to specify some settings that is essential for the
working of Operating system. To make the installation fully automated we can use a method
in which we can specify all the settings in a file known as answer file. When we start the
installation we can specify the location of the file. System will access all the information
needed for windows from the file and does the installation fully automated.

System preparation/sysprep

It is a type of installation in which there are two many computers with same hardware
configuration, the computer who contains the configuration is source or reference
computer, in which we have prepared an installation with appropriate softwares needed.
and the others are receptor or destination computera to which the os should be cloned.
If we cloned an os barely all the identification values of the source machine
will be cloned to receptor machine. If we connect both the machine to the same network
many problems and conflicts will occur. To avoid these problems before cloning we can
run a utility namely 'sysproc' on the reference computer before cloning and this will flush
off all the unique identification value from the source computer. Now we can clown the os.
After the cloning when we brings all the machine up the os will be prompting us to provide
all the unique identification values, so there will not be any conflict.
